Our Purpose
The photographs on this website are the product of a love for the natural world and a desire to honour the memory of our son, Brayden.
He was a generous young man with great compassion and love for his family and friends (including those with four legs and those with fins and flippers).
When you buy a picture from Lucky Shot, we subtract our cost for production and donate the rest on your behalf to either BC Women’s Hospital Foundation or the Vancouver Marine Mammal Rescue. Both charities were important to Brayden. He started his life early at the neonatal intensive care unit and, sadly, died at eighteen, doing what he loved: diving at Whytecliffe Marine Park, among the seals released by the mammal rescue program. Your donation to the BC Women’s Hospital Foundation will be directed to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This is the largest nursery in BC and helps babies with the greatest needs. Your donation to the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Mammal Rescue helps in the rescues and care of at least 100 marine mammals each year.
We hope that in some way these photographs capture the perception, enthusiasm, sensitivity and love for nature that defined our son.
Thanks for visiting the site.
